Imalent MS06 flashlight review - The Gadgeteer Imalent MS06 flashlight review - The Gadgeteer
If you want a flashlight that can maintain 25,000 lumens you’ll need step up to the brightest flashlight in the world for 2020. The 100,000 lumen MS18 can sustain 25,000 lumens for a whole hour! Another test was made by putting forced ventilation in HIGH mode to see the functioning of the temperature regulation. The Imalent MS03 utilizes a set of three American-made, 2nd Gen CREE XHP 70 LEDs to produce its peak 13000 lumens. Then I saw this loop – the cooling fins have a hole for the lanyard. Based on the heat this light can churn out on Turbo (and even the lower modes), it would probably be a good idea to use a metal connector here for the lanyard. The driver, like most other things on this light, is glued in – there’s no easy way of getting in to take a look.Within 60 months after receipt and under normal use, any quality problem with your IMALENT flashlight, you can send it to repair for free; The MS03 is built from aircraft aluminum throughout- typical of most flashlights these days. The anodized coating is pretty good quality and I found no thin spots on any edges.

An 8AWG cable was then run from the negative terminal of the cell to the negative terminal on the driver through the UT210E, ensuring no shorts. I’m quite pleased with the light temperature as well. It’s a bright white without any cold blue hues. Lens and Reflector The Imalent MS06’s spec sheet claims a beam throw distance of 513 meters. To test this in the real world I took the light under a large highway bridge. The beam was able to reach the sixth peer. According to Google Earth that is approximately the sixth peer was 400 meters away. Double pressing the power switch in any mode will activate the turbo mode, outputting the maximum amount of light. Double pressing the power switch again will enter strobe mode, whereas a single press will revert to the previous mode. Low Power setting Middle 2 setting. Turbo Setting (maximum)Only the two brightest flashlights in the world in the large category can match the MS03 in value per lumen. For a small flashlight, the Imalent MS03 is easily the best value in this regard. I would like to clarify that the values expressed by the graphs must be taken, above all, as a reference because they are made with means and environmental conditions different from those used in the laboratory. I haven’t fully worked out how the lanyard is meant to be used yet. I can attach it on one end, but then the other end hangs free, and if I put my hand through it, it’s moderately uncomfortable on the wrist due to the fabric being quite thin. The “knotted” part of the lanyard does slide up and down though, so that may have something to do with it. There’s only one accessible o-ring, and that’s below the threads on the battery tube. This should be more than sufficient, as the head appears to be sealed up tight, and the button most likely has a rubber membrane surrounding it. This is amazing, that means the light consumes over 120W on Turbo (This perfectly explains why I burnt my fingers and damaged the table while measuring the flashlight).

As you’ll note from the pics above, the beam is very floody and has gentle spill off the edges. You can easily light up a very wide area with the MS03. There is a broad hotspot that is visible at closer ranges. Here is the list with most of the high-power flashlights we reviewed in this category (Category: high-power soupcan sized flashlights). Flashlight (and Link) A bright LED flashlight like the MS06 is always needed for a variety of applications, and you'd want a reliable flashlight with a certain degree of waterproofing and impact resistance, with a durable aerospace-grade aluminum body with a type 3 anodized finish, MS06 is designed to meet IPX-8 rated waterproof standard and 1.5-meter drop resistance. Another positive thing is that the small size contributes to the lightweight of the MS03. It is just 117 grams, which makes it very easy to carry.I think that there would still be room for an even lower “moonlight mode” for when you want to preserve your night vision. Tactical Strobe There’s only one way to hold this light if you don’t want RSI, and that’s an underhand hold. As it weighs over half a kilogram, holding it up in a tactical hold is going to become annoying real fast.
A 25,000 Lumen Behemoth: Imalent MS06 Review - Well Rigged
I’ll be using the included Imalent cells, as I don’t have anything else that fits, or at least not three matching cells, anyway. Imalent – a brand long known for high output lights, the makers of the first commercially available 100,000 lumen light (the MS18), and all-round heavy hitter in the flashlight game. I’ve had my eye on their lights for quite some time for that first reason – they put out an absolute ton of light, CRI and CCT be damned. Double pressing the power switch button in any mode will activate the turbo output, which is up to 25,000 lumens, double press the power switch button again to activate the strobe. Lightly press the power switch button to exit As with most of the ‘soda can’ lights, the MS06 requires button-top cells, but differentiates in that is uses 21700 cells for extra power and runtime. The three cells that the MS06 comes with are Imalent-branded, model number MRB-217P40S. There’s not a whole lot of information out there on the internet about them, but they appear to be a non-USB-rechargeable version of the cell found in the MS03, the MRB-217P40.Among the accessories supplied, the well-made foldable holster with velcro opening and closing is of particular interest, essential to carry the MS06 safely on the belt. When the flashlight is on, press and hold the power switch button to switch between 200lm - 1200lm - 2500lm - 4000lm - 9000lm - releasing the power switch button will save the required output level. That says “HOT SURFACE” but the part that gets the hottest are the cooling fins – and boy do they heat up. We caution not to mix old and new types of batteries, brands or batteries, and so on. It is recommended to use only the original Imalent battery.
