About this deal

The T13 is not trying to catch any attention with its design. The best way I can describe it visually is to say it looks plain, and with budget TWS earbuds, plain is good. Unlike what you’d find on the Haylou W1, for instance, there’s no brand lettering. Ever since the QCY HT01 sort of won my heart, I’ve been a huge fan of QCY earphones. They’re affordable, trendy, and like the HT01 showed perfect-sounding in-ear. They should be, because the T17 can actually reach QCY's advertised 7,5 hours of playtime on a single charge. An excellent performance for this price. The case can recharge the buds three times before needing new power itself, but fast-charging the earbuds or the case isn't supported.

The free QCY app gives the T13 some extra functions, which is still pretty insane at this price point. The app doesn't require you to set up an account, although you may have to put the earbuds in the case and then take them out again to make all the app features work. Those features are: Open it up, and you see the T13 in all its shiny glory. The finish is glossy. It looks like it was built to last, and I’m definitely impressed by the overall feel. One other area where the T13 punches far above its weight in terms of sound quality is the level of surround sound it puts out. As was the case with instrumentals, the T13 manages to catch and play out all the subtle but ‘eargasmic’ surround detailing. Listening to hi-fi music on this earbud is nothing short of immersive and engaging. In the standard scheme, it's not possible to change the volume from the earpieces directly. However, you can change the controls via the free QCY app. As the T13 doesn't support a single tap, you can't have both simultaneously. However: you won't activate controls just by adjusting the earbuds a bit - that's nice. Like any other QCY TWS earbud, the T13 comes with a side-mounted soft-touch panel that allows you to control what you’re listening to from the earbud itself. It works fine. It’s not too sensitive, so it ignores false touches, but it will respond to actual touches when you need it to.

FIVE STARS - Two years after the brilliant QCY T5, the Chinese brand has done it again. Tremendous battery life, great sound quality, and adequate phone and video calls performance: the QCY T13 is a steal for its 25 dollars price tag. I’ve always been quite sceptical about entry-level TWS earphones, but the QCY T13 do bring something new to the table. Although they’re not perfect – nothing is, unfortunately – they do bring a very nice mix of features to the game. It’s especially the combination of sound quality, connectivity and battery life that makes me feel like they are the first entry-level model I’ve tried which deserves my praise. So far all of the other ones I’ve tried let me down for a reason or another, but not the T13. Sound quality on QCY earbuds is usually top-notch, and it’s the same case with the QCY T13. The best way to describe the T13’s sound profile is to call it balanced. This is an earbud with a very large sound stage (it’s comparable to what you’ll find on the QCY HT01), and in practice, this means you get to hear practically all sound levels and frequencies with depth and clarity. Going up in the frequencies, the QCY T17 shows a dip in the lower mid-tones, meaning lower electronic tones don't play a prominent role. Darker male vocals move up to the center-mids. These center-mids enjoy a nice presence. Male and lower female vocals sound detailed, and acoustic guitars and piano play come across naturally.

Below this QCY T13 review, you will find comparisons between the QCY T13 vs QCY T17, QCY T5, Edifier X3, Haylou GT6, Mpow Mbit S, and Fiil T1 Lite. In terms of build quality, the QCY T13 don’t look especially solid, but feel decently robust and, in fact, they feel rather robust for the asking price. I unfortunately dropped them a couple of times and they came away without even a scratch. They are IPX5 certified, so they can withstand a variety of situations including hot showers. The QCY T13 has touch controls on the earbud's upper part, which respond well to your input. The control scheme is simple: The QCY T13 probably has the biggest soundstage you'll encounter on a pair of very cheap wireless earphones.
